Ισχυρή έκρηξη σημειώθηκε σήμερα σε εργοστάσιο χημικών στο Τέξας και είναι σε εξέλιξη η απομάκρυνση των κατοίκων της περιοχής κοντά στο Port Neches.
Όπως μεταδίδει το RT, δεν υπάρχουν αναφορές για τραυματισμούς αλλά είναι εκτεταμένες οι ζημιές σε κτίρια.
Σύμφωνα με τις περιγραφές κτίρια τινάχτηκαν στον αέρα και το ωστικό κύμα έφτασε σε σπίτια 64 χιλιόμετρα μακριά. Η έκρηξη έγινε μάλιστα αισθητή στη γειτονική Λουιζιάνα.
Οι κάτοικοι αναφέρουν πως αυτό που ένιωσαν ήταν σαν έκρηξη βόμβας, «νομίζαμε πως θα πεθάνουμε» περιέγραψε ένας κάτοικος.
